French Quarter is a hole in...
French Quarter is a hole in the wall club (which they proudly proclaim on their sign). It's laid out like a hallway - bar in front, stage to the back - with little room to maneuver. Not like that was a huge problem on a Monday night, since there were maybe 10 customers tops. I would say that it's in a sketchy area of Hot Springs, but all of Hot Springs is sketchy, so it's hard to judge.
I drove in around 10pm, paid the $10 cover, and was immediately greeted by a stripper who just gave me a weird stare and didn't say anything. I bought a soda to get some change (the bar is alcohol-free due to some archaic state law about serving up beer and titties or something like that), and found that a solo cup of Coke was a whopping $5! Needless to say, I made that drink last! Guess the bar has to get its tips somehow.
I found a spot next to the stage to watch some of the dancers. The girl who greeted me at the door eventually sat down to talk to me. She was super awkward, but I let her give me a tour of the facilities. There's a shower dance room in the back of the bar that will set you back $100 for a half hour. It looked a bit like a table shower room, and I imagine some mutual touching goes on in there, but I didn't feel like dropping that much to find out. Downstairs, there's a quiet seating area for chatting. Beyond that are several small private dance rooms that are closed off behind curtains. The rooms varied in size from a small single-seater to the large rooms with multiple chairs, a pole, and a couch that I was told "doubles as a bed." You can also peek into the girls changing room from the hall, which my tour guide stated was "off limits" for customers.
