The Fifth Alarm is hit or miss. More often miss than hit.
That has been the case the past few visits. First, the parking lot. The extended Winter has seemingly pushed the homeless junkies back into the shelter next door for warmth, but I expect that gift to end soon. During the warmer months, there seems to be an endless supply of homeless people panhandling on the street as you enter the bar and this often extends into the parking lot. Junkies congregate in the parking lot across the street, which pretty much makes that off-limits.
For the second time, I've had difficulties in the lot with a dancer or her pimp and their vehicles. The first time, some pimp decided to back up at full speed to get to the road. If I hadn't been attentive and raced back into my spot that I was backing out of, I would have been hit. On my last visit, some asshole friend of a dancer (or off duty dancer) parked in the middle of the lot, blocking six cars (three on each side) as she talked with her buddy. As I tried to maneuver around her, which was near impossible, she copped a street-gansta attitude about that infringement upon her apparent right to jam up the lot.
