Decided to take a trip to the Porthole - a Pompano mainstay for generations. Porthole is a small club with the main bar just as you enter. A good size bar where most of the guests mingle. At the back of the club they have partitioned private dance rooms and a champagne room. The Porthole pub is your typical neighborhood club masquerading as a strip club. I am not saying it necessarily in a bad way -it is just what it is. On any give night you will find a good number of regulars at the bar - a Cheers type feel. Dances at the bar are $10 and fairly liberal and dances in the private rooms are $25 each. The club has two for one dances about every 30 minutes or so. It is an excellent way to find out if a girl is the right one for you at little expense. Most of the girls allow substantial two way contact and needless to say - there are plenty willing to provide services for the right price. Dancer quality on this night was quite a mixed bag. Quality ranged from 7's to 2's. There are some real cute black dancers and they are easy to talk to and friendly. I think the downfall of this club is the amount of really low end dancers on staff. There really are some hideous girls on the floor almost every time I go. Not sure how the management makes their decisions on talent but they need some uplifting in that area. There is only one dance floor and you can go through three really ugly dancers in a row - a definite turn off. I noticed people leaving when certain girls headed to the stage. On this night, I had dances from three of the girls - all were great. If you head out to the Porthole with your expectations tempered you should be okay. If you are expecting Playboy bunnies - definitely not the place for you. You may check out their sister club - Diamond Dolls for the high end girls for the same mileage and ultimately better value.
