Other people have covered prices and service, so I'll focus on my impressions of other aspects of the club:
From the outside, the Black Cauldron looks like a scandinavian barn, with the interior resembling a haunted house that would appeal to Junior High School students. The entire club centers around a large divan covered in green muppet fur- apparently, that's the Cauldron. The walls are painted to look like a Norman Castle- the rest of the club is pitch black, unheated, and looks like it isn't quite finished. It's not my idea of a comfortable place to hang out, but I suspect they'll fix things up as cash starts to come in from operations.
Unlike the rest of the club, the stage is a comfortable place to sit. While you're sitting there, the strippers expect $2 a song, for which they nonchalantly rip their clothes off about five seconds into the very first song and ostensibly proceed to molest the customers. Unfortunately, none of the dancers were my idea of attractive (not a fan of the skinny drug addict look, metal, or ink), nor was there much entertainment going on- the dancers seemed to be more interested at bitching at each other and trying not to freeze to death in the vacant restaurant than paying attention to the customers. Maybe I just caught everyone on an off night, but I'm not likely to drive out to Glenfair/Gresham again just to visit.
