After another disappointing visit to the Silver Criket, where I have a harder time getting lap dances than any club I've ever been to, I headed over to Henry's for more of a sure thing. This is the original Henry the VIII Lounge on Middlebelt Road just north of Michigan Avenue in Inkster and very close to two other sure things: Flight Club and Bogart's.

I arrived about 4:15 and ordered a Coke for $6.50. (Beer was about the same at $6.75, but I had just had two beers for $9 at the Criket.) There were 7 dancers, maybe 4 white and 3 black, and only 3 other customers. One girl sat down with me immediately and, after 15 minutes or so of small talk, asked me what kind of fun I was looking for. When I asked what kind of fun was available, she explained that some girls would do anything in the back room, others did only lap dances, and others (including her) did some things and not others. Her one exclusion was "sex", for which she had a Clintonesque definition: intercourse is sex, but oral sex isn't. I guess that's a pretty common attitude these days. We agreed on $80 plus tip for a nice unhurried BBBJCIM, actually one of the best I've had. I was in and out of the place within 45 minutes.

Henry's is comparable to Bogart's in ambience, menu, and price structure, but I thought the strippers were not as attractive as those at Bogart's. I would certainly return to Henry's on future trips to Detroit, though I also plan to check out some of the other clubs in Dearborn/Inkster/Romulus, such as Toy Chest, BT's, Flight Club, and Landing Strip. So many strip clubs, so little time!
