This was the first time I ventured into this club. I found the atmosphere to be inviting. There was a lower lever and an upper level, both with full view of the main stage and the shower that is above everything toward the center. The dancers on shift weren't particularly good looking but seemed friendly enough. Most of the patrons at that time were guys in their late fifties and sixties. You could tell they all go there often as dancers would know them by name. I'm in my late thirties so I did feel a bit out of place. I can't say that I was particularly attracted to the dancers as most were either too tatted up or were butter faces. The one dancer I did like spent all the time I was there with an upstairs patron doing private dances. I saw her only when she went to grab a something at the bar. After about an hour and a half I was approached by a black dancer from New Orleans. She was about my age and was a pretty good conversationalist. She told me that the dances at St. James are all in the private rooms and that they are twenty. Good enough for me! She further said she was a dance instructor in her non club life. We went to the private room and things got good. She did all these contortionist positions, handstands, and turns. She got my engine running. She was not aggressive in upselling which I appreciated. All she said was, "Just say when you want to stop." Really and truly just watching her dance was a treat in and of itself. She was truly talented and nimble. I didn't find the dance particularly erotic, rather more befitting of a theater show. That said, her demeanor and conversation were big pluses as it's rare to find a dancer that actually has something interesting to say. Overall, I would recommend this club due to the atmosphere, but would maybe choose a different time or day to go. Also, the waitress was attentive and the drink prices are reasonable. Another thing to note was that 90% of the patrons were there alone. There was only two guys on the upper level that were "making it rain" every chance they had...Interestingly, they never got any dances.
