Finally getting around to this review...

Finally getting around to this review from last month. It was time to check off another establishment in my ongoing quest to experience every peeler bar in BC. The last time I was in Kamloops for an extended period the Duchess didn't exist but I had spent a few nights at the old Rendezvous Hotel so figured it would be about the same. I fact I thought they had just changed the name but this is not the case. The only review was from a year ago so tried to get more info, but the website listed doesn't work. I did find an article online from this past summer that said the Duchess was closing, leaving Kamloops without a strip club for the first time in ages.

Well shit....now what do i do? After having dinner I figured, may as well drive by and see if it is indeed closed. Can't hurt right?

Upon arrival the exterior signage is all on and there's a couple people outside smoking.

Sweet! I park and head inside and HOLY CRAP! is it ever busy, probably 150 people or so. Turns out that it's Wet T-Shirt night (more on this in a minute). Once you enter, the club is laid out to the right with pool tables on the right hand side, the bar a little further down on the left wall and the single stage further on at the back. I grab a beer at the bar and it's typical pricing, $6.50 for a Corona (I think there was a special on something else but don't remember). There's exactly one seat left in the whole place, at the bar, so I sit down and start to peruse my surroundings. The place seems like they spent some money on it. Raised booths ring the walls around the stage and then a dance floor around the corner from the bar. I didn't go check this area out but could see some people dancing later on in the evening. This is when I start to notice the make up of the crowd. It's mostly early 20's and probably almost half women! Not sure if this was just for wet t night but that would be my guess. Like most clubs in BC there were 3 dancers who rotated stage shows with about a half hour between sets. I'd rate them all as pretty hot but one seemed bored while the other 2 put on good shows. Around 11:30 the wet t contest started. I figured it would be great given the volume of women in attendance but only 2 girls got up to participate. The MC managed to talk a 3rd girl who was sitting in Gyno row to get up as well but she was reluctant. Once the show started the other 2 girls really got into it and got almost naked. The 3rd girl was definitely shy but managed to get topless.

Once that was over some people headed over to the dance floor side of things and the strippers started again for a couple more shows.
