This review is based on two...
This review is based on two recent late-afternoon visits, one on a Monday and the other on a Tuesday. The club is oddly situated on Forest Avenue at the eastern edge of Washington Park, next to cornfields and within view of Cahokia Mounds. Unlike Hollywood Show Club, Larry Flynt's Hustler Club, and Miss Kitty's, which are all lined up on Bunkum Road very close to the interstate exit, this club and the others in Washington Park (Blondie's across the road from Dollie's and C-Mowe's, Cheeks, and Wise Guys along Kingshighway) are located deep enough in this sketchy little ghetto town that I wouldn't recommend visiting after dark.
Cover in the afternoon was $2 (why bother?) and a beer cost $4.50. Both days there were 6-7 dancers, all white on Monday and 5 white, 2 black on Tuesday, and a similar number of customers. Each girl danced, usually rather half-heartedly, to 3 songs that she chose on the jukebox. Some kept their clothes on, others took off their tops, and still others gave generous peeks and even feels of the kitty. It was obvious that the sole purpose of the stage dance was to entice customers to get private dances.
On both visits a number of dancers sat with me, gave me the famous Washington Park handshake, and explained their menu options. I agreed to a CBJ each day for $40 (white girl on Monday) and $60 (black girl on Tuesday). I would have tipped both of them, but they ran off before I could get out another ten-spot. Both girls supplied a condom, and the black girl won probable repeat business from me by taking her time, providing napkins for the clean-up, and disposing of the evidence. The white girl, on the other hand, seemed to be in a huge hurry (though shift change was an hour and a half away) and couldn't wait to get the job done.
