I'm from out of town, but...
I'm from out of town, but this is my 4th or 5th trip to Charlotte and I've made stops at quite a few of the clubs now. I've been to LNL South before, and it was a fun time, but this time it was almost not worth the stop if it weren't for the $2 miller lites.
First the club. It's tiny. If you ever mention it to anyone who's from here, they'll tell you, "Oh yeah, that hole in the wall?" So yes, it's a hole in the wall. The upside is that it's got good views of the stage from nearly any seat in the house (not hard when it's the size of a very large living room), the music is not too loud, and the server was very attentive to my drink needs. Upon entry, you have to give the girl your ID through the hole in the bullet proof glass window and the main door is locked, which unfortunately prevents you from getting a quick look to see if it's worth your time for entry. Since I'm out of town, they give free admission with your hotel key card (nice!). Also slightly misleading, but I see why they do it, the 2 best looking girls in the house are the door girl and the bartender who you might just see through the window.
Anyway, upon entry there's the bar to your right, a pool table to your left and always a couple of people playing pool, usually poorly. Go down a step or two and you're at the main level and there are tables in the middle as well as along the right wall, just down from the ATM machine. I usually pick this area since the music isn't too loud there and you get a good survey of the surroundings, plus you can see the managers / bouncers. I will say that it's not exactly what I would call clean. Not that it's disgusting either, but their definition of clean and mine are very far apart. So if you want a nice, clean club, I'd stick with Uptown (based on experience) or Men's Club (based on coworker recommendations).
