I have been a frequent traveler to TJ but never tried out Madonas until now. It was a Friday at about 9 PM and a barker on the street pointed the way to it from Revolucion (only about 1/4 block down 4th).

It looks great on the inside, particularly in comparison to most of the rundown places on Revo. I paid my $4 for a Sol and was given a shot of tequila with it. Then I looked around I noticed I was the only customer in the place! There were about 10 dancers and 4 of them were quickly mustered to action on various stages around the bar. The looks to the girls wasn't bad, but nothing inspiring... the best looking girls were not on stage but rather sitting at tables indifferently.

I went to the bathroom (which was very clean) and on my out I was given a tour of the VIP room. It was a huge space for a strip club, with multiple couches and a shower. Then came the sticker shock... I was told that the room cost $250 for a half hour! When I go to TJ, I usually take about $200 and spend about half of it. I quickly realized that (even if I bargained) I couldn't keep this place going all by myself! So I tipped a couple of dancers and waiters and headed back up to Zona Norte.
