Sin City is a Bronx club...
Sin City is a Bronx club of the classic hip hop variety. By that, I mean that it seems like the #1 source of revenue for dancers here is not lap dances as in many other clubs, instead they generally rely on men to "make it rain." I've seen guys come in and easily throw over $100 at a girl on stage and then sit down with absolutely nothing to show for it but an ass-wiggle in their general direction. As a result, those that go for lapdances will find it to be very low pressure, at least until 1am or so. Around that time, especially on weekends, the club gets so packed that every seat is taken, and dancers roam the club and will just forcefully sit on laps and start gyrating. I suppose what you tip at that point is up to you, but it could be a problem if you're not at all into the girl that decides to lap-rape you. That's going to be it, though. At that point in the evening the place is so wall-to-wall with guys, it's hard to walk over and get someone. It's excessively loud in the evenings as well, so the forced lapdance is a bit of a necessity for the dancers since they can't really chat guys up like they normally would. For that, you'd need to go in the afternoon or early evening.
If I go, I tend to go after work, and it's incredibly dead around that time. A single girl will dance to 3-5 songs on the side stage closest the bar nearest the entrance (the place is HUGE, with at least 3 stages, and one being large enough to host a grade school production or something). Aside from the girl dancing, the rest of the girls will likely be talking to each other, or their regulars for almost all of their time there. A few hungry girls will roam around to chat up customers and potentially offer a dance. The girls are generally black or latin, with a hiring focus being on ass, twerking skill, and pole tricks.
It's not my favorite club, but when I just want to go, it's a great place because unless I find an amazing dancer that I dump several twenties into, I don't run into that "Shit, where they hell did all my money go??" hole that most other clubs are geared towards. As a result I tend to walk out of Sin City with more money than I would at other clubs. It's probably a good option for college students or guys on a budget in NYC. I've sat across from guys I've seen not dropping more than $10 over the course of 3 hours or so, and that MIGHT include a drink, which is pretty impressive in a penny-pinching sort of way. My monetary value rating is a combination of the "making it rain" guy and the dude spending $10. It's really about how you throw down money. Drinks go up in price as the night goes on to at least $12 or $15 for a beer around 1am.
