I stopped by for my friend’s sake. The strip clubs in Costa Rica are off the chart, but expensive, compared to massage parlors, dance clubs and brothels. Don’t forget prostitution is legal here.

We were met at our taxi and shown to a table by a distinguished gentleman. My friend inquired if a girl, that broke his heart last year, was still working there. She was not. Our attendant brought over some beautiful ladies that were supposed to know her whereabouts. We soon forgot all about her. It is mandatory to buy lady-drinks here, that is how their system works. There is no tipping or paying for lap dances. Lap dances are intense and included with the drinks. The attendant’s tip of 15% is also included in the tab. Our attendant, who was excellent, insisted on an additional tip. My guess is that the 15% tip is shared by all employees. The lap dances are “anything goes”. Don’t worry about getting into forbidden territory. The girls will be way ahead of you. They will guide you into all manner of pleasure. We got out of there relatively fast. It wound up costing $150 for both of us without a happy ending. We had several drinks and bought several glasses of champagne for our girls.

Now by US standards this would be great but in San Jose there is just so much more to be had.
