This is a review of my visit to Big Al's in October 2012, when it was still located at 519 Main Street. Since that time it has moved to 400 SW Jefferson Ave. By the way, according to some of the idiots on SCL, this move to "the far south side" or "the ghetto" would ruin business -- but the two locations are, according to Google Maps, 2 minutes or 1/2 mile apart!

I arrived on a Friday evening at about 6 after a conference in Peoria, parked right across the street, and paid no cover. (After 7 it costs $7.) I bought a beer and sat back to enjoy the entertainment, such as it was. There were *three* dancers -- two white, one black -- who did three-dance sets on the stage. The top always came off at the end of the first song and the bottom by the end of the second. The girls were attractive enough, but not enough to entice me to the lap dance area. I got back in my car and headed home down I-74, stopping at my long-time favorite -- the Silver Bullet Bar in Urbana -- where I found, as always, the satisfaction I was looking for.

Big Al's is such a famous old strip club that I have to think a good time can be had later in the evening, but I just wasn't feeling it this time. The next time I'm in Peoria on a Friday or Saturday night (later than 6!) I'll give it another try in its new location.
