Another visit to an old favourite. This club and Browns vie for my favourite London location. They used to be run by the same management though I think that they have split now. Nonetheless, the formula remains similar. A normal pub with a normal range of drinks and prices with the addition of a stage with striptease and the option of private dances.

This place is not as consistent as Browns, it has great nights and disappointing ones. As I have said before, the stage is very small and there is no rail. If you are able to go up to the edge near the pole then you will be very near the dancers. The size of the audience is crucial. Too few (less than 5) and the girls don't perform at all. Enough to dance but not crowded: they discourage you standing right by the stage and the view is poorer rather than better than Browns. Busy: you have an excuse to go right up to the stage. Too busy: you can't get there and your view is blocked by those that have managed it. It takes practise and some luck to get it right.

This was my first non-weekend visit and I was not sure what to expect. I was lucky, the audience was just the right size. I was with a friend and we got the best spots. As a result, we were close enough that the girls' hair would swish us in the face. No body contact this time but very close, often just inches away.
