My first time visit to Brandi's...
My first time visit to Brandi's was just like many of the other posts. To enter the club, you take an elevator to the 5th floor. The entry way where the elevator is looks standard and plain which had me confused briefly. But when the door opened the button are clearly marked to tell you where you need to go. The sound of the DJ was easily heard before the elevator doors opened. It was a $6 charge at about 10pm on a Sunday. Coat check service was available. The club is about medium size with a round stage in the middle. It had two poles. The chairs around the stage were full. Only 2 or three empty ones. The crazy thing was that the bar only had 2 people seated at it. This is strange for me as it usually is the other way around where there are more people seated away from the stage then at it. I sat at the bar, ordered a draft beer (dark ale - $9) and wondered what Canadians did to tip the dancers on stage. I could not imagine someone sticking a loonie or toonie into a g-string. The dancer started her set on stage. Three song sets. The performance by this dancer was superb. She used the pole gracefully, imaginatively, and athletically. Then she twirled around on a blanket and capped it off with a curtain dance. It was very entertaining. I had asked one of the dancers wondering the floor if the dancer on stage also gave lap dances. Was told no so I agreed to go back with another dancer to find out how much fun a Canadian lap dance could be. The dances are through a door in a back room. The privacy in this room is black curtains separating different areas of the couches. Not 100% private as the curtains did not go all the way to the wall. I was told to keep my hands to the side and she would do all the touching. It was mainly a bunch of "first base" and a little "second base" touching. Nothing to get my blood flowing. She quoted $50 a dance but would give me a deal of 3 for $120. Other option was 30 minutes for $300. I took the 3 dances. Shortly after being disappointed, I went back out to the stage area. Another performer taking the stage. She too had lots of energy and used the poles well. The answer to my earlier pondering was that the guys seated around the stage tipped with $5 and $10 bills. But it looked like the groups were taking turns tipping. Go for the stage shows and enjoy a beverage. Pass on any one-on-one entertainment.
