I have been going to the Trop on and off for five or six years. Here's my take on the changes, the good news first.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is that the place is a LOT darker than it used to be. The old Trop used to be the brightest strip club I ever saw. Now apart from the black lights, the only lighting are the lamps above the pool tables and one bulb at the bar register area.

The renovations are nice. The new VIP area is an improvement, with dances taking place on couches, behind a wall instead of the old portable screen. However there is now a nightly $5 VIP fee.
