I was in the mood for a change of pace in my SC venue, so I thought I'd stop by Haven Place. I had seen it as drove along US 40. It doesn't look like much from the outside. The club sits at the end of a row old Baltimore town homes sitting next to an electrical substation. The surrounding area is mostly warehouse and light manufacturing. Free parking is available along the side and behind the club as well as on the street. It's well lit and I did not feel uncomfortable in the area.

Step inside the front door and turns out the club is actually two town homes with part of the dividing wall removed to open up the space. The two town homes had different elevations, so the club is divided into a lower and upper half. Nicely restored brick walls and exposed wood beams starts to create an atmosphere invites a guy to relax and chill out. The bar stretches along the side wall of the lower half. It seems well stocked and reasonably priced: $3 for a soda, $4 for a bottle of beer. Sorry, I have no info on liquor prices. No food available other than pretzels.

Climb a couple of stairs to the upper level which is populated with some tables and chairs, a couple of arcade games and the restrooms towards the rear of the building. The mens room was clean, but beware: no paper products are available, so grab some drink napkins if you think you might need them. And then think twice. Because there is no privacy partition between the toilet and restroom door (which doesn't have any sort of lock).
