I lived in Melbourne, FL for a dozen years but moved away earlier this year. I had been to Bare Assets only a handful of times when I was here, and the only reason I went back this time was due to the previous review, which said some things had changed. I went there Friday September 7th at midnight or so. The first change I saw was the place was packed. It was hard to find a parking spot. It was still a $7 cover, which isn't bad. The layout is the same, but there is a bit more sophistication in the way the staff dresses and the general features of the club. One bad thing was the price for a beer. A Michelob Ultra was $5.75, so that was one and done for me. The ladies were of a higher quality than what I had seen previously. The dancers are now on stage for only two songs, and there are generally two dancers on the stage. They rotate positions after the first song. They still have that 2 VIP dances and 1 drink for $25 and parade the women around at certain intervals during the night. The DJ was a pain in the ass, though. At the end of each dancer's set, he'd ask "where are all the hand clappers" to get patrons to clap. I admire the effort to gain enthusiasm, but "hand clappers"? I didn't partake in any VIP dances, but they seemed generic and one way. The VIP area is open for all to see and there are even windows to peer in each side of the couch (not sure if they were there before). Overall, it was a better experience than I've had previously. I might return as I'm down here for a week, but I'll likely hit other clubs in Cocoa, maybe The Landing Strip and Lido Cabaret.
