The Playpen is a strip club...
The Playpen is a strip club in a loose sense of the term. It's one of Mannheim Road's "fashion shows", wherein the girls don't get naked, they don't have a pole or a stage to dance on, but they do give you a dance with some solid grindage. The club itself, a dingy little thing even by Mannheim standards, is about the size of a corner bar, with a pool table upfront and a bar in back with seating in a U-shape around it. Dances are mostly done as far toward the back corner as possible, although some take place right at the bar.
The Playpen can definitely be hit or miss, and the day I went was a hit. The dancer quality varied greatly, from about a 3 to a couple solid 7's, but the good news is there were about 7 or 8 girls (for about 20 customers), so it was easy to wait out the low-end dancers for the good ones. I got dances with a couple of the good-looking girls. They each gave me a few nip slips and a peek-a-boo downstairs. One of them let my hands roam a little and did some stick-shifting, which was considerate of her. I paid $20 a song, which was almost worth it with the second girl, and you may be able to negotiate a lower rate (like 2 for $30). It's not a place I frequent, but I had a free afternoon and Mannheim Road was my best option for low-level thrills.
