Since I was in South FL, I had to stop in Tootsie's. Evenings and nights are NOT my favorite times to visit SCs, I simply don't like the crowds, cover charges or higher prices for (less) fun. But I had to leave Saturday morning so it was Friday evening or no Tootsie's. I walked in about 7PM after parking way out by the fence, paid the cover and almost immediately ran into crowding. The bar was three deep with guys wanting service. I just muttered under my breath and turned toward the stage empty handed.

But life gets better. A very cute waitress immediately puts her arm around me and leans in to ask me if I would prefer she seat me in VIP and get me a drink - then adds to the offer that she works the downstairs VIP and won't charge me for the seating. Four minutes later, beer in hand, I am ensconced upon a padded chair with an adoring (if, perhaps, near blind and mentally challenged) waitress nearby. The parade of beauties was worth the cover and this waitress proved invaluable in directing dancers to my lap. Over the course of an entertaining evening I discovered that my waitress was, instead of near blind to grab me up, very sharp to plant me in her grasp. I certainly tipped her well, but I also suspect she got a piece of the money that went to the dancers.

The evening was far too expensive to repeat in the near future, but still a lot of fun. A half a dozen lap dances, one "entertaining" 1/2 hour VIP, about four beers for me (2 comp from the waitress) and three or four drinks for dancers - it added up - big time. But on the (very) positive side, I always had a place to sit guarded by my attentive waitress, and the fun came to me, in spite of a growing crowd of mostly rowdy young men. This is the first time I have encountered such premium service from a waitress in Tootsie's, but I have to say I liked it.
