For some reason I have avoided...

For some reason I have avoided this club for many years. However, I was in the neighborhood on a recent Thursday night and decided to give it a chance. My regular club in Indy has been Brad's Brass Flamingo, but since their lap dances went from $10 to $12 to $20 in the last year, I have been trying other places around town. If you're going to spend $20 anyway, you might as well branch out from your usual hangouts.

(Incidentally, Harem House, Babes, Pure Passion West, and Classy Chassy all offer 2-for-$20 specials on Tuesday, and I'm told that Silk -- the former Silk & Lace -- also has a $10 dance area.)

Club Rio is on Gemco Lane, just north of 38th Street and a short distance west of Lafayette Road in an area that has gone downhill over the years but now boasts the greatest concentration of ethnic eateries in Indy: Mexican, Guatemalan, Peruvian, Indian, Vietnamese, Egyptian, and many others lie within a mile of 38th and Lafayette. Also, Pure Passion West (the former Babes West) and Rick's Cabaret are nearby and Sunset Strip and Club Venus are not far away, either.
