Subi's is not a glitzy or glamorous or upscale club. Nevertheless, I like it. The club gives off a good vibe, being really a neighborhood bar with strippers. The customers, staff and dancers are primarily white, working class and friendly.

Valet parking is $4, and the cover charge after 7PM is $5. A beer is $6.50.

Subi's Place, in the Detroit suburb of Southgate, is small and rather dark, but it is too clean and too safe to be called a dive. You can sit at the bar or a booth along the back or at a table near the stage. The oblong stage is in the center of the bar and there is a small island stage that strippers sometimes dance on. The stripper poles only reach about 8 feet above the stage, and so dancers use the poles mostly for spinning around, not for spectacular acrobatics.
