I finally got back to Pure...
I finally got back to Pure Platinum at a more regular time to see how things compared to when they used to serve alcohol. The results were not too good, and I think this place may disappear sometime soon.
Pure Platinum lost their liquor license about a year ago. Since then, with CA laws, they've been a full-nude establishment instead of just topless (the other location in Kearney Mesa still serves alcohol). For club details, see my previous reviews of this same club. Changes from those reviews: with a military ID, the club waives the $10 cover, so you only pre-pay $8 for your drinks. There's still a champagne room, but with no alcohol, bottle service is no longer a prerequisite for going there, which effectively lowers the price by $200. When I've visited previously in the evening, they've had valet parking taking up most of the lot, but not this time, and there were some empty spots in their small lot (about 25 spaces), which should have given me a warning.
I walked in, and there were maybe 5 dancers on the floor, with maybe 7 customers. I didn't see anyone actually getting lap dances of any sort. The dancers were all OK looking, but nothing spectacular. In the two times I've come here since they lost their license, pole dances have only been on what used to be their second stage. I suspect that since they're now full nude, the larger second stage is the only one that has enough room for the required separation distance from customers.
