My usual Austin clubs are the Yellow Rose, Sugar's Uptown Cabaret, and Club Expose. On Sunday afternoon I was on my way to Expose on South Congress when I decided on the spur of the moment to go just a short distance farther south on Congress and east on Ben White to the very classy-looking Palazio.

I arrived around 2 and paid $3 cover. The girl collecting cover made a half-hearted attempt to enforce their "strict dress code", questioning the shorts I was wearing as being "too thin", but she let me in anyway. Be aware that at night they might make you wear slacks or perhaps dress shorts.

My two Coronas were a bit pricy at $5.75 each, though the waitress Molly was very friendly and showed just the right amount of attentiveness. I can't comment on the quality of the dancers in general because the one who was on stage when I arrived got my full attention. Tennille is a gorgeous black girl, originally from Brooklyn (!), with a great body and beautiful mocha skin. I tipped her at the stage as soon as I entered and she joined me when she was finished with her three-dance set. She sat on my lap for a long time -- topless, I'm happy to report -- and then took me back to a couch in a remote corner for some excellent private dances at $20 each. Based on this one experience, I highly recommend Palazio Gentlemen's Club and especially Tennille.
