In Carbondale once again on business...

In Carbondale once again on business and decided to check out the De Soto strip clubs. I arrived at The Gallery around 11pm on a Friday and could see it's steady slide into sub mediocrity has continued, there were about five dancers on shift (one was actually helping out behind the bar) and no one was dancing on stage, counting myself there were maybe 11 customers with most of the customers and dancers huddled around the bar area. The dancers (looks wise) ranged from OK to marginal and everyone seemed kinda board. This club is in need of a serious remodel, at one time years back this was the nicest looking club in the area (back when they had a better stocked bar and served food) now it's fully apparent that the club ownership just doesn't care, everything is dingy, dirty and kinda rundown. The girls of course are nothing special and at least on this night not very friendly but on the plus side the DJ was pretty good (a lot of 90's era Hip-Hop between sets) I stayed long enough to see a couple of the girls dance then I dipped out.

I would advise people in the area to just skip this club altogether, out of the three De Soto area strip clubs, Club Coyote (although not a great club by any stretch) is still the best bet, even JB's (which is definitely on it's last legs) can be kinda fun if you catch'em on the right night...at the moment there's really no good reason to even go to The Gallery.
