Back to Bogart's for the first...

Back to Bogart's for the first time in a few months. As recent reviews have noted, they've "upgraded" the VIP area to individual phone booth areas, each private with a chair and a curtain. Still the same crappy chair, but at least you're not trying to hide what you're doing. (Not that many people tried to hide it in the old open room, but I digress.)

Others have described the bar in general, so I'll focus this review on the girls. In general, it appears that night shift talent is very uneven. Last time I was there, there were at least 2 girls I'd rate an 8 or above. This time, maybe 1. The others were older, or overweight, or stoned/drunk, or all three. I was there to see someone specific, so I was able to fend off most of the offers, but I still had unpleasant encounters at my table with two really messed up girls. One was so screwed up she could barely talk.

I will say that, despite other reviewers' opinions, I don't find the waitresses, bartenders, or shot girls particularly annoying. Yes, they come by a lot, and yes, they hound you to buy stuff. But I've found that if you are polite and decline with a smile, they usually won't give you a hard time (as long as you have a drink in front of you already). I'll occasionally buy the shot girl a shot, as they've sat to chat with me a few times when the night was slow. They help shoo away the annoying dancers, too.
