It's been a few years since...

It's been a few years since I visited Babes. It WAS my favorite club in the southeast region, but something has dramatically changed about the place. Granted, the time of my visit was a Monday night (not the busiest night of the week) but I was nonetheless underwhelmed.

The dancers were average at best and frightening in a couple of cases. There was only a handful of them, they spent minimal time with the two or three customers in the bar and looked very annoyed. The prices on private dances have apparently leaped from $20 at the time of my last visit, to $40 up to $130 for their "VIP room". The pool tables have been replaced by a tacky black curtained off area for private dances and the rest of the usually nice club is looking fairy dingy.

Most of the people in the club at the time of my visit were some rather scary-looking friends of the club, and one of the dancers I talked to said fights and trouble had become commonplace in the bar. It's sad, because this place really used to be a great time. I didn't even stay an hour.
