Given that it was a Tuesday...

Given that it was a Tuesday night I didn't have high expectations for Splendor which turned out to be good since it didn't meet any of my expectations. The clun has a somewhat run down appearance inside. The furniture is old, bathroom is in disrepair, cigarette butts were on the floor...basically it looked run down. There were plenty of ladies working but definitely not the premium shift. There were several older ladies working and it was very clear a few of them had had more than 1or 2 kids. Several of the dancers did not appear to have a license and so had to wear latex over their nipples. This just seems to would take away from the fun going to a strip club. Since the club did allow smoking inside it was quite smoky and several of the dancers were standing around smoking cigarettes instead of soliciting dances. Houston always had a reputation for clubs that allow more free access with the hands. However the ladies working tonight didn't seem to want to allow any touching especially the ones wearing latex. The hustle was also on big tonight and I was hit up for several extra tips that I don't think we're deserved.

When I left the club the girl at the front desk called me a cab after 30 minutes of waiting a cab showed up but the valet gave my cab to one of the dancers who was leaving the club for the evening after waiting around for another 45 minutes I finally got a cab back to my hotel. The management of the club was aware that I have been waiting for a taxi for over an hour and yet offered me absolutely nothing for my troubles in waiting for the cab.

The only positive thing I can really say about the club is my waitress for the evening. Her name was Charlie and she really did take great care of me trying to steer dancers my way and was very attentive with my drinks and my tab when I was ready to leave.

I have been to much better clubs in Houston and I would recommend scoping them out before going to Splendor. I don't think I'll ever be visiting this club again.
