On a whirlwind tour of Tampa and after a GREAT visit at 2001 across the street, I stopped by the Mons about 3pm on Monday afternoon. I had not been to Mons in a couple of years, but have had glorious times at lunch on previous business trips. In fact, once being so distracted by the quality of the talent, I out-of-pocket ponied up the bucks to change flights from afternoon Orlando to a late night Tampa flight home! But not this time, not even close. This is the first time I've been disappointed and I was TRULY disappointed. $20 cover, about a half dozen guys at the bar, for about 6 or 7 very mediocre (or worse) dancers. The barmaid and one dancer were both pregnant, some how for me, a maternity dress is a huge turn-off in a Gentlemen's club. I just couldn't think wood with her baby bump bushing against my thigh. That day, I'd give the dancers a 3-4 rating. One nice blonde, cute face, great butt, but had enormous botched bolt-ons that knocked her from an easy 9 down to maybe a 6? One bubbly black chick, maybe a 6 due largely to her smallish A-cup and 12-year-old boyish looking spinner package, another turn-off for me, pestered me for a $30 dance. I insisted I wasn't interested, after several pesters and dropping her price to $25, then to $20 and finally I couldn't refuse a single $15 nude dance. After about 45 minutes of disbelief and waiting for the real talent to show up, all the while wondering if I was on Candid Camera, I downed my ginger ale and hit the road. Damage: < $40 .... unheard of for me at the MONS! Must have been a slow day.
