I swung by Club Fantasies on...

I swung by Club Fantasies on Monday evening, around 9PM. It was _dead_. I walked in and immediately regretted it. This place used to be my first-stop in Providence, but it has really become a ghost town over the past several months. I had thought that there would be at least something of a crowd on Monday given the 2-for-1 lap dance deal, but I was literally one of maybe four customers in the place. Obviously, I don't go to clubs for the customers, but it was so empty at Fantasies that it was actually uncomfortable. The dancers (there was maybe 6) were milling around, obviously bored and frustrated at the lack of clientele. When I sat down at the bar, I was approached by three dancers in rapid succession - they were pleasant and not aggressive and understood that I had just gotten there . . . but they had nothing else to do after I said I wasn't immediately interested in a dance, so they just walked to other side of the bar and . . . sat there. Looking at me. I left after one drink. It was depressing and weird. I hope that Fantasies gets back on its feet, as it used to be a lot of fun. I might try it again on a weekend night to see if it's a little less awkward, but I'm going to hold off a weeknights for the time being.
