Some clubs are the kind of place you can always have a good time, while your experience at others can be hit or miss. I visited Silky’s on a couple of recent weeknights, and had one “hit” and one “miss” experience.

The club is located on Route 51, and – by Pittsburgh standards – fairly easy to find. Parking is limited, although I didn’t have a problem finding a space on the nights I stopped in. You enter the club at the front of the two-story building, coming into a hall/stairway with the bar/stage area through a door to your right and stairs to the lap dance and private rooms straight ahead. The lack of any security, coat check, or cover charges sets the vibe that this is much more of a laid back bar than a flashier “upscale” club (if that’s what you’re looking for, Club Erotica just down the street is a better bet).

The main room is a long, narrow space with a small single stage up front (which I infer only gets used during very busy nights, if ever), along with the bar and some gaming options I didn’t give much attention. Ten bucks buys you all the beer you care to drink, and non-alcoholic options are available for less. The main stage takes up about half the overall length of the room, with poles at both ends and chairs along each side. The far end of the room has a couple of couches against the wall, and one bar-height table with a couple of stools.
