Finding the place is always a challenge. The address on the TUSCL listing, when Goggled brings you about a mile away from the actual place. If you click on “view map” on TUSCL site for Smiles, it shows you too far in the other direction.

Maybe put in to the GPS the corner of New Hackensack Rd & Maloney Rd in Poughkeepsie. This will bring you to the corner that the shopping center is at. Looking at this long strip mall, you will not obviously see the place (it's at the far end). I know where it is and I always have to look hard. The place had minimal signage outside. There is a smiley face painted on the window. There are no lights on the place. They tell me that they have to keep very low key.

That being said, when I got there the parking lot was well stocked with parked cars. So I go into the club and dead. By dead, no one to be seen but the manager/bouncer/DJ and the bar girl. It was almost 8:30 on a Friday night. He said that there were some girls in the back, but they were not going to come out until they get some guys. He said go nextdoor to the bar and get a real drink and comeback.

I did look into the restaurant/bar and there were only a few customers. So who belonged to all the cars in the parking lot, as everything else was closed.

I decided that I didn’t want to hang around until others showed up, so I went on my merry way.
