I decided to invest some time and money to see what had changed under the new owners. Much is the same: the drinks still taste slightly of dishwater, the stage configuration and lighting are the same, and none of the dancers stand out as either particularly attractive or unattractive. (There were five on Monday night, doing 12 minute sets, so it was all over in an hour.) Improvements: lap dances are now $20 each, slightly lower than before. Since I was there for research purposes, I had one (from Dynasty), and I would rate it as approximately the second-worst in Massachusetts.
I don't exactly understand their business model. During the hour I was there, three customers (including me) came in, and two left. Only two of the five dancers were making any effort to sell private dances, and their income from the stage was about six dollars each. Unless (a) they find a way to get and keep a lot more customers, or (b) they've got some other business going on that I don't see, they'll be out of business in two months.
