I made a rare night visit...

I made a rare night visit to Amber's this past Thursday after midnight. Even though I'm a day regular and rarely visit at night, I did expect some degree of continuity on the floor. I was shocked by the lack of familiarity of the dancers,recognizing only one. The place was very slow and word was that it had been that way all night and probably has been that way on a number of different nights, leading to what appears to be rapid turnover of dancers. At least the bartender was familiar. I chatted up a blonde dancer who was talkative and pleasant but not much beyond that, but still agreed to buy a private dance from her. In hindsight, a mistake; I should have asked her more questions about her experience and where else she had worked, but didn't because it was getting toward the end of the night and I just didn't have patience to conduct an "interview." She was fairly new and just didn't have her act in order. It wasn't so much that she was tentative, hardly, it was that she didn't know how to combine moves to make them memorable and show me a good time. I spent too much waiting for her to settle in to a groove, but she n ever did. If this is the story of Amber's night shift, it's a sad one for a club that has done far better in the past.

I'm sure if you go more regularly at night things are likely to be different and likely better for you, but by how much one has to wonder. The dancer's was Brianna. Maybe she'll learn a few things in the days and weeks ahead, but I'm sure she's going to find some tough competition. I also continue to hear bad things about the owner/partner who manages things at night, Gilly, I believe hsi name is. He's got a bad reputation as a boss is is not customer friendly.
