My visit was on opening night,...
My visit was on opening night, November 18, 2011 between between app. 8:50 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. This club was formerly known as "Rick's" under the ownership of Talents West, a now-defunct company that also operated three other now-closed Puget Sound Region strip clubs. The property was purchased by the Deja Vu company at an auction in June of this year, and just opened on November 18, 2011 under the new name. This review will be structured mostly as a comparison of the new club to what it was like as the former club, since the former club was the best known strip club in Washington state.
The exterior of the building is the same as it was when it was Rick's. Just a few painted signs on the awnings where the old Rick's name was were changed to display the new name. Surprisingly, the old Rick's rooftop sign remains, unchanged. The interior is much different. Certain key places and functions from the former club remain. The entrance and exit doors remain as they were, in the rear, accessible directly to the parking lot. As you enter the club, the cashier, bar, and restrooms are still in their former locations. So, is one of the two stages. I believe it was known as the main stage (against the south wall) when I was Rick's. Beyond these few things, nothing is the same and the decor is entirely different from the former club. All surfaces and furnishings are completely new, even in the men's room.
The second stage away from any of the exterior walls. It projects into the room about opposite the other stage. It is shaped like a "key" (like in a pre-1950's basketball court). It has two poles on it. It's interesting that one of the poles (at the "key hole") is obviously a structural component of the building! This stage will have two dancers on it at a time when the club is very busy.
