I visited Henry the VIII south...

I visited Henry the VIII south on Friday September 30th from around 8pm to 12am. I paid the $5 cover and got my only coke for the night for around $6. I was prepared for a rough crowd in a bigger dive than the Hip Hugger. What I found was a well worn club that was nice enough to go to with a barely passable VIP/lap dance area. Prices are good at Henry’s South so there is a little room to raise some insignificant prices like cover or dance wrist band to pay for improvement. That said, I don’t think Henry’s has to change to keep there currently clientele but entertainers can always use a few new customers.

Henry the VIII South is a small club with a small stage in the front the bar in the back. There is another very small stage at the entrance. There are chairs around the main stage, about 6 tables just back from the stage with benches, watch how you sit down incase the bench moves, and a set of high top stools before you get back to the bar seats. There is another section of tables farther away from the stage to the side of the bar that might be closer to the back tables. The lighting is pretty good. The lap dance area is in its own area behind the stage.

Southgate is a south suburb of Detroit and Henry’s is right off of a main highway. Henry’s has its own lot and if the parking lot is completely full there is probably no room in the club.
