Some reviewers have noted (and I agree with them) that The Penthouse culture has shifted radically. I agree that the quality of dancers has diminished. Older, fatter, harder, much more mercenary. Well, you have to expect dancers to be mercenary, but now fewer and fewer even put up a facade of civility. Don't even talk about a GFE. I visited this club (once my ATF) three times on a recent trip, a Wednesday night, and a Thursday and Friday afternoon. I saw maybe two exceptional girls on all these trips, and of course they were unavailable. Dances were typically prefaced with a list of available "extras" rather matter-of-factly recited. The one dancer that I would have taken up on such items ironically didn't offer them. I didn't spend a lot of cash at The Penthouse because frankly I didn't see too many that I would have wanted to spend such time with. So all pretense is off. It's just a glorified whore house with no kind-hearted whores, but still the occasional Rip-off Bitch. It's just a different atmosphere now, different even from a few months ago. I will have to revise my opinion of Detroit as a strip-club mecca. It's just another dingy midwestern city with nothing to recommend it, except maybe for the emerging Tigers and Lions and the enduring Red Wings. But I can always catch those shows on TV. The city can close The Penthouse down now for all I care. No loss for me.
