Been meaning to try Jimmy's since moving from Detroit to central Illinois because Jimmy's is now the closest club to me. But after blowing about $800-$900 bucks at the Landing Strip in April, I've been avoiding strip clubs trying to recoup my losses, maybe save up enough for a trip to Subi's or back to the Landing Strip next April. However, my buddy was in town visiting and we needed some Saturday night entertainment, so we decided to try Jimmy's.

First off, the place is kinda a dump. It's not the worst place I've been to physically (that would be VIP Showclub in Anderson IN), but it was essentially small tables around one of the smallest, dumpy stages I've ever seen. The VIP area was just an area further away with a velvet rope, I don't know why you'd want to pay more to sit way back there out in the open, but it didn't matter because the clientel was in no way "VIP calibre". Mostly just really old white creepy guys and young black kids. The backroom where the private dances took place was okay. Just semi-private booths...below average lighting...nothing out of the ordinary.

There was no cover. If there had been, I'd have downgraded the monetary value rating even lower. The drinks were average priced for a strip club. You could get decent mileage near the stage for $1-$2, so that was a positive. But the private dances were pricey. The private dances sound reasonable ($15 topless, $25 nude), but it's "per song" and they don't do any "packages" where you get 3 for the price of 2 or anything like that. And there's a guy with a clipboard when you walk in, so the place knows how many dances they're giving. So, long story short...you go back for a little time with a dancer, you're gonna be out $100 pretty dang quick.
