This trip to Southeastern Michigan was a little disappointing as far as the strip club scene was concerned. Even my favorite, Penthouse, was not that great. I actually visited three times, a Tuesday afternoon, a Sunday evening, and the following Wednesday afternoon. As a general observation, I have to say that the quality of the girls is definitely down from what I have been used to in the past. Of course, there are always the few exceptions, but overall the selection was pretty weak. Maybe I just hit on three bad days. On Tuesday, the few dances I had were weak as well, not at all up to Penthouse standards, a litle groping a lot of indifference, and no real action. On Sunday evening, there was really a shortage of dancers for the first couple of hours that the club was open. There were large groups of guys, but hardly enough girls. I started to see the same girls on stage sooner than one would expect, and then over again. The quality was a little better but availability was scarce. I left at 11:00. On Wednesday, I scored one good session with a tall blonde with a great rack, who was quite frank as to what was available. I declined at the time, because it was early and I wanted to sample the other fare. I should have taken her offer because it turned out she was the best to be had. There was absolutely no one else worth taking behind the curtains. All in all, I'm getting discouraged with Penthouse and with the Detroit scene in general. Maybe the Golden Age has passed. By the way, if you dislike second-hand smoke, stay downstairs.
