The Hip Hugger isn't my favorite...

The Hip Hugger isn't my favorite strip club -- that distinction belongs to Brad's Brass Flamingo in Indianapolis -- but it certainly is reliable. The Hugger's claim to fame isn't the appearance of the club itself or even of the dancers. No, strip club hounds across the country sing the praises of this club for one reason: high-mileage $10 lap dances.

The Hugger is easy to find (like most strip clubs in my experience, though perhaps I have a nose for them): just a block east and a block north of the intersection of the US 31 bypass and Markland Ave (US 35/IN 22) in a commercial/retail neighborhood on the east side of Kokomo. When you enter the club, you will pay a $3 cover at night ($0 during the day) and stumble to your right through a very dark room past the bar to several tables in front of the single stage. Beer choices range all the way from Bud to Bud Light and cost either $4 for a small glass or $11 for an ice bucket containing four bottles (my recommendation if you're not driving).

The dancers are mostly white with a few Asians. All kinds of body types are represented. Some girls drive long distances -- Richmond, Fort Wayne, South Bend, the Region -- to dance here. After their stage set they often circulate through the crowd doing "dollar dances". That's your chance to ask the girl of your choice for a lap dance, since they usually sit with regulars and let the customer do the asking. By all means, try a Hip Hugger lap dance or three -- you'll be glad you did!
