Surprised to find the RG open...

Surprised to find the RG open at 2:30 in the afternoon. Apparently they open at 2. Located right on Duval across the street from Sloppy Joe’s (more or less). No cover. Nice looking comfortable club but narrow and dark. Low stage to the right with nice mirrors behind surrounded by small wooden seats with a decent bar on the left and four high tables beyond the stage. Appeared to be more space to the rear of the club but it was closed off. Music was slightly loud but bearable. Heineken was $6.75 and bartender seemed detached from her job. At least six dancers were working and customers averaged to number about six but they generally didn’t stay long with people coming and going.<p>A little hard to tell about the dancers as the darkness was to their favor. Nice enough temperament, low hustle and OK looking but not a great find. Two Cubanas were occupied at the bar with two Cuban patrons the whole time I was there. First dancer on stage was thin and 45ish. Next up looked good but on closer inspection was pushing 40 probably from the high side. Quoted $20 LDs but nothing available to tempt me.<p>A low pressure club that has been suffering from lack of customers, it was an OK place to have a beer but I can’t say it’s a great place to go with the rest of Key West outside the door.
