I've been to the Admiral Theatre...

I've been to the Admiral Theatre on many different occasions. The club is a landmark in northern Chicago at Lawrence and California. They are quite concerned with their image and will turn you away for dumpy attire, so skip the ratty T-shirts, torn jeans and jerseys. They have valet parking for a small fee, but you can often find street parking within a few blocks for free after 9:00pm. Inside, you'll note a lot of velvet and ostentatious decor. There is a tips optional coat check and an adult boutique with videos and toys for you to browse. Admission varies depending on the time and day, but is typically around $20 plus the cost of a drink (non alcoholic, since the club is 18+). You can get a coupon from their website (admiralx.com) for discounted admission. Once you enter the dance floor, you'll see two tiers of seating. Bouncers will ask where you want to sit. Main floor seating is around the main stage and "VIP" seating is raised up and back behind some railings. The "VIP" area has comfier seating and a view of the smaller, single dancer stages. However, tableside dances cost you $20 in "VIP" vs. $10 on the main floor. They are both the same air dance, but one costs more. :)

The girls do a two song set on the main stage, and if there are enough girls/customers, will then rotate to the two small stages. First song is topless on stage and the second is usually nude, but sometimes down to g-string. Tipping at the rail is encouraged, but the most it will get you is some extra shaking in your direction, or maybe some legs resting on your shoulders. Still, the girls put on a better show when you the energy is up. If you are not sitting at the rail, expect to be propositioned for dances regularly. They also have waitresses and a few back/neck massage girls that circulate often. Tableside dances are cheap and nude but no contact and quite public. They have private VIP booths with curtains by the song or in 15,30,60 minute blocks of time. I've never bought a big block of time but doubt the mileage will be very high, given the strict standards at this club.

I'll continue to go back to the Admiral from time to time. It's a great club to relax and take in the main floor and they often host well known features like Vivid entertainers (Jenna Jameson, Gauge, Charmane Star and lots of others have performed here). But if you like to "go in back" for a long period of time or look for high mileage, don't expect much to happen here.
