This place is new in Honolulu...

This place is new in Honolulu as of January 2003. There are three stages down the middle of the room with chairs at the stages and booths along the sides of the room. To kick off the opening of the place, Penthouse brought in strippers from all over the mainland, so when I went there on a Thursday night in late January, there were about 20 girls and about 30 guys. The range on the girls was 6 - 9. All three stages were going. They have one dancer to each stage, and they go for three songs at a time. The songs are pretty long. Some guys were sitting in the booths chatting with girls. One booth had a table dance going for themselves. Each stage had a couple or three guys tipping the dancers. The dancers work mainland style, dancing for the crowd regardless of tips, instead of the local style of waiting for some guy to step up and start tipping before they strip. One girl I talked to was from Indiana and she told me they brought all these girls in to start the club and they're all leaving in mid-February after the Pro Bowl. I guess they're going to hire locally after that. I had one private dance. They have a private area at the back of the club with a bunch of cubicles. Each cubicle has a couch for the guy to sit on and a little table for the girl to dance on. Total air -- no contact. $25. Not a bad place. Clean. Professional. We'll see how it looks after a couple of months.
