I had not stopped by Treasures...
I had not stopped by Treasures in a good six months, and on impulse did so on Sunday, midafternoon. I was in the mood for a beer and breasts, and not much else. There were probably 15 dancers and only ten customers, so the hustle started as soon as I got in the door. They were numerous, but polite. Interestingly, most seemed to be Spanish-speaking, and not from the States, and most of the other ones were older, probably close to 40 or so (which I don't mind). The beer was $6.50, the front stage was the only one open, and I after the first dozen or so drive-by "wanna dance" encounters, I was left largely in peace. When I wanted to get some dances, I stood up, spoke to one of the idle dancers, got a dance, and returned to my chair. It was a really peaceful experience, sort of like Rick's on Westheimer used to be, years and years ago. I watched a good game, drank two beers, got a few dances, and left refreshed. There was a bit of an issue in the back -- one side of the back area smelled like vomit, and I was surprised that some the dancers didn't smell it -- two out of three didn't smell anything of the sort. One was horrified and had already spoken to the older manager there who was apparently going to take care of it. I have no idea how the two other dancers didn't smell that, although I recall that my sense of smell was much duller when I was still smoking, so perhaps that was it. Apart from that, it was a very nice experience. Latex is still on the nipples, and there were no thongs in evidence, just bikini bottoms. The dancers are much less skittish about contact than they were last year, before the elections, and all three offered to give me a hand if I wanted it. After having largely given up on Treasures because of the sharks, it was really nice to have a pleasant, low key, and overall nice experience.
