Decided to see if somehow Mons...

Decided to see if somehow Mons Venus has changed over the years. Short answer is no. A small club that lives on reputation and hype. Went in a little after 9 and there were a total of 4 customers and maybe 12 dancers (hard to tell how many may have been in the back). Octagonal stage, dark mirrors everywhere with benches, booths and chairs around the stage, no alcohol, drinks $2-3, all with a $20 cover charge. Music and lighting are both OK. No VIP. As for the dancers (the supposed attraction), lots of silicone, tattoos, and/or bleach blonde hair none of which is attractive to me. None appealed enough to spend any money on and one had so much plastic surgery that the word grotesque came to mind. They were ALL business and it felt like falling into a school of piranha being accosted by one after the other. Left after about 15 minutes (or less). My impressions of this club haven’t changed. It’s a weird place to go to if looking for a good time and I’ve never understood the attraction. To each his own. Recommendation: Go to Ybor Strip, go to Miami, go anywhere else. Off night? Maybe but as for Mons, I’ll continue to leave it to the tourists. (NOTE: dancers were a 6 but lost points for attitude and hustle)
