Stopped into here on a Sunday...

Stopped into here on a Sunday night. It's a primarily black club in da "Bad Newz" (Newport News, VA) . . . I was glad when the music didn't screech to a halt when my white ass entered on this particular evening. There were only a few patrons on this particular Sunday night. The club staff seemed welcoming, including the female bartender; not an off-putting atmosphere at all. The bar area is to your right as you enter (BTW, the bar only serves beer and some type of mixed drink, but no hard liquor or wine), then past the bar there's the stage (only one here), and to the right of the stage, several pool tables.

On to the dancer. I say "dancer" singular, b/c there was only one dancer at this particular hour. Probably that's the norm here. The usual b.s. VA club limitations were in effect, i.e. the dancer's body was covered up; no skin, as was expected. Also, no lap dances here. The dancer was a bit thick, but in a good way; I sat and tipped her some $1s for a while, but she didn't give me much eye contact at all, even though I was the only one sitting next to the stage. I only stayed a couple of songs.

Overall, an okay place to hang out and have a drink or two. On the positive side, you can do your worst here and won't be spending much money (there's no cover, BTW). My entire trip here totaled out to less than $20. An "okay" club by typical VA standards.
