On a recent visit to Austin...

On a recent visit to Austin I spent parts of two afternoons at Sugar's, just before and just after New Years. Both times beer on tap was only $2 and it seemed that the number of dancers and number of customers were both under 10. Kinda slow, but I like it that way.

Sugar's Uptown Cabaret is located on Highland Mall Blvd, a road nearly encircling a dying shopping mall on the near north side of Austin. (I read in the paper while I was in town that Highland Mall had just lost its last anchor and was expected to go under.) Parking is safe and easy and there's no cover in the afternoon. When you enter the club, which is quite dark, you will go down a ramp to your right to the main seating area, situated between the two stages.

On Thu 12/30 I got a couple of dances each with Southern California girls Christina (a beautiful Mexican/black/South American mixture) and Tiffany (probably biracial black and white). On the following Tuesday I got a couple of dances each with Leslie (gorgeous blonde) and Mia (more below). Dances were $20 and were pleasant but rather low-mileage. After two visits to Sugar's and half a dozen to the Yellow Rose, I would say Sugar's gets more attractive dancers but the Yellow Rose offers higher-mileage private dances.
