The Griffin is run by the...
The Griffin is run by the same management team that runs Browns but is more centrally located (near Farringdon). The idea is basically the same as Browns -- it's a traditional strip pub, although as compared to Browns, The Griffin tilts the balane more toward pub than strip, as it is really just a pub with a tiny stage in one corner. There is no cover to enter. Dancers come around for the customary 1 pound from each customer before going on stage and performing. Dancers strip to fully nude over the course of one song, and then there is a long delay until the next dancers comes around for tip and gets on stage.
The small size of the venue may work in its favor when it's less crowded, because certainly you could get very close to the stage, the dancer's belly is at eye level, and there is no railing. However, when it is crowded, as it was when I was there, there is almost no room to move around, so you're standing shoulder to shoulder with lots of other blokes trying to see the stage.
The good news about this club, however, is that for the most part the dancers are the same ones who dance at Browns. When I went, there was >80% overlap from the last time I was at the other club. And, trust me, that is a good thing, since the dancers are super hot. I think they do offer the same no-touch private dances that are offered at Browns, but to be honest the place was so crowded it would have been hard to even get to a girl to approach her.
