I saw several new faces on a recent Wednesday afternoon visit, and I was pleasantly surprised by the noticeable upgrade in quality. There were still some of the usual suspects, and there were still a few dogs walking around, but by and large it seemed like they kept the good ones, added better ones and dropped some dead weight (emphasis on the word "weight"). A couple of the girls could easily work at better clubs, and one told me she used to be at Heavenly Bodies. My rating of 7 might be a little generous, because truth be told the average of all the girls there that day would be lower, but there were enough hotties to give you options in the 7 range.

That said, I want to be clear that this is still a low-end place: There is no stage and it's technically a bikini bar (although you'll get flashes from about half the girls). But it's clean and safe with reasonable drink prices. I got dances from several girls on my visit, including some of the new ones, and there was a good deal of two-way contact. It sucks that dances are in the open, so you'll never get as much contact as you would at the best strip clubs, but if you're looking for a low-key, fairly low-cost option, Carl's is definitely worth a stop.
