Another trip to CCR after a long absence. I’ve never liked the DC clubs because of their restrictive ordinances (why bother?) but I’ve always enjoyed visiting the CCR. It is a restaurant/bar first and foremost that just happens to have dancers. My impression is that they are neither trying to be nor pretending to be a gentleman’s club. Previous descriptions of the place are accurate and as several reviewers have noted the dancers tend to be a little older. You are not likely to see a bunch of nineteen year olds, none the less they are all attractive. There is the “tip me” parade after they finish a set but since this is how they make their money it doesn’t bother me. The girls are generally polite about it and I am usually guilty of having watched. In all my visits, I think there was only one time when no dancer came to sit with me. Other than a glass or two of wine, at house prices, I’ve never paid or tipped any of them to join me as a previous reviewer suggested is how it’s done. So if you are looking for good food, cold beer, nice eye candy, and perhaps some pleasant conversation, all at a reasonable price in a laid back environment, I would recommend CCR when in the DC area.
